Field Marketing Principal, Hospitality Unit

The Travel Intelligence Field Marketing Team (or Sales Engineer Team) guides BI & Data solutions engagement and provides functional and technical pre-sales support to Sales and Account management staff for the promotion and sale of BI & Data Solutions within our Hospitality Business Unit (HOS).

The role will work with a wide range of stakeholders—including executives, sales teams, customers, etc. Key areas of ownership include collaborating with various teams and Specialists to generate interest in getting customers to buy our products, leading the commercial offer, and providing post-sale support to secure usage and subsequent renewal. This is an individual contributor role and will help support revenue and profitability growth through executing our go-to-market strategy, driving customer retention and cross-sell programs, and working with our Product teams to provide customer feedback and prioritize the roadmap.

Main responsibilities

  • Act as both a communicator and a connector between product, sales, and customers. Consistently and concisely distribute product information and enhancements to the sales force relating to pricing, administration, value proposition, product changes and modifications, and competitive analysis.
  • Capture and share feedback from the field, such as new competitive threats, specialized market needs, client response to value proposition, etc. to the product team.
  • Provide post-sale customer support on using and extracting value from the Business Intelligence products to secure usage of the solutions and secure subsequent renewals.
  • Consult with customers to help them understand data products and choose a product that best solves their problems. Participate in large customer engagements to win and retain Business Intelligence business by acting as an expert and pulling together data products into a cohesive strategy.
  • Represent the customer’s perspective, providing clear and actionable product feedback and recommendations for enhancements that will drive business value.
  • Promote the BI products to customers through direct 1:1 engagements or group webinars. Help shape the structure of the commercial proposals and ultimately assist the Seller in closing the sale.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations and webinars to support new product launches and explain products to our customers and prospective customers.
  • Enhance confidence and expertise amongst our sales force in Business Intelligence by becoming the “product expert” they can turn to for questions and advice. Spend time in the field with prospects and salespeople. Demonstrate successful selling techniques, identify, define and share best practices, help to develop and conduct best practice & web education training, and work one-on-one with Seller to ensure confidence & expertise.

About the ideal candidate

  • 7+ years of experience in Sales and/or Revenue Management in the Hospitality Industry.
  • Expertise in Business Intelligence (BI) solutions is desirable.
  • Proficiency in English; other languages are desirable.
  • Strong customer focus, business acumen and change management skills.
