Indigenous Hospitality Officer | Pinangba Services | Cairns

  • Employment Term: Part Time
  • Location: Cairns
  • Remuneration: $29.04 + 11.5% (12% from 1 July 2025) Super + Not for Profit Salary Packaging
  • Rosters: Between 7am and 3pm, 16 + hours per week

We are seeking individuals who identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander who are interested in pursuing a career as a Hospitality Officer (Cleaner)

To perform this role, it is essential that the person is an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person. It is therefore a genuine occupational requirement under section 25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991.

Pinangba is an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander lead service delivery arm of UnitingCare. The foundations of Pinangba are built from our cultural identity and strong community relationships and partnerships.

Your part in our team

As an Hospitality Officer a key support role to the delivery of our services, you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring business operations are run efficiently and our clients and residents receive an exceptional experience.

You will:

  • Supporting senior hospitality staff members with daily operations which may include housekeeping and laundry services
  • Preparing, cooking and delivering food in adherence with Australian food safety standards and dietary Requirements of our residents
  • Being required to uphold impeccable hygiene standards.

What makes a difference for us?

  • Prior hospitality experience in kitchen or cleaning
  • Ability to work alone in a kitchen environment
  • Enthusiasm and strong self-motivation
  • Great communication skills and excellent attention to detail
  • Confidence to satisfy the relevant probity checks required by legislation or policies
